This product has greatly reduced the food spillage by a Parkinson's patient. We have tried clip-on edges around plates before but this plate is easier to use and to be acceptable when in company. I wish we had discovered this product much earlier
Thank you for providing us with adapted steelite rimmed plates so that my son can manage his food on his own. I have been trying to find a supplier for a while- since his previous plate, a gift from a friend, was broken. They are fairly heavy so they don't move around the table. The edge is curled to help him get food onto his fork or spoon one-handed. They have an outer rim to catch any stray bits. They are hugely more effective and less obvious in use than the curved plastic shields that clip onto a plate- though they have a place when travelling. I was also delighted with your service. I got the steelite crockery for my father who has had a stroke. I like these plates as they are shaped to help with one handed eating, but don't look like special/ clinical products. The heavy duty china looks as close to regular crockery and dad is happy to use them without feeling like he is different.
I bought this Steelite plate for a relative who has very limited use of only one hand. The design of the plate means that he can position food next to the edge and push it onto his spoon.
