The bedrail holds the mattress in place and is a helpful support too.

Very good bed rail, sturdy, well made, especially very good having legs to the floor for added safety. Gives safety whilst in bed and helps me get out of bed having mobility problems. Could have a couple of more height adjustments for both higher and lower mattresses but has caused no real problems.
