Being able to record my own message is very helpful and quite loud so noticeable if trying to attract the attention of someone with a hearing defect. I did find the wall unit attachment a tight fit so had to forcibly move the sliding plastic up and down a few times to connect the two so as to be wall mounted so was a bit fiddly in that respect.

I bought the memo minder for my mum who has dementia and kept leaving the door unlocked when letting her cat in and out. I was easily able to record and change the message. It took a little while to find the ideal position for the device as it kept being triggered by the freezer door, which was right next to the back door. When we did find the best spot it was easy to fix to the wall using the bracket supplied.
