The tip is fine for walking but getting your walking stick to actually stand up with it requires some patience; inevitable really given the size parameters. I actually bought it to protect our furniture as my walking stick (which I hope will be unnecessary when they eventually get around to replacing my hip) was forever bashing things and falling over. The tip has improved, if not entirely remedied the situation.
