The 45 degree angle of the grab rail made it perfect to fit to the frame of an external door, near the handle. A straight tube looked like it might hinder closure or be too tight a squeeze to the handle itself. In most spaces a straight tube should suffice, but in confined areas, to ensure adequate space for fingers & palm to grip, hopefully this will do the trick. I found it well made & looks durable. I was and still am very pleased with the Wooden Bed/Chair Raisers. They have been placed under my sofa legs and a single bed to enable my disabled grandson to visit and to stay over night, without them it was almost impossible.
